Wood is a natural product, which, with regular care, is getting more and more beautiful over the years. This living material feels good, spreads warmth and guarantees a pleasant room climate. Wood can be repaired, altered or revamped.
Colour and structure of a specific wood type are subject to natural fluctuations and even emphasise the special character of the product. These individual features are due to the growth, the age of the trees, the region where they can be found as well as to the nutrient supply related hereto.
Solid wood is very easy to clean, has an antistatic effect and therefore does not pick up dust. At our factory our solid wood worktops get a triple surface treatment where special organic care oil developed for the kitchen area is used.
Thereafter a special matt de luxe finish is applied to the worktop. Solid wood is a hygroscopic material which adapts to the indoor climate conditions and can thus absorb and emit humidity.
Therefore, make sure that the room climate is well-balanced at a temperature of 21 ±3°C and a relative air humidity at 50 ±5 %. If solid wood is constantly exposed to a high degree of humidity, the worktop tends to distort and to change in dimension.
Household appliances which steadily emit heat downwards (e.g. permanent use of a coffee machine) must be put on a heatresisting pad. Please adhere to that, as otherwise discolouration, dehydration and cracks may arise at some points. However, smaller cracks in the solid wood are very natural. |
